What should you avoid after a hair transplant?

The success of a hair transplant depends not only on the surgeon's skill, but also on how closely the patient follows the aftercare instructions in the first weeks.
The first 3 days
- Do not touch or scratch the implantation area. - Sleep with your head elevated (at a 45° angle) — this reduces swelling. - Do not get your head wet — the first wash, using a special technique, takes place after 48–72 hours. - Avoid alcohol and smoking: they slow down healing and reduce graft survival.
The first 2 weeks
- No swimming pools, saunas, steam baths, or sea beaches. - Keep the transplant area out of direct sunlight. - No intense exercise (a raised heart rate increases blood flow and the risk of losing grafts). - Do not wear tight headwear.
Up to 1 month
- Do not dye your hair. - Do not use styling products on the implantation area. - Keep physical exertion limited.
Up to 3 months
- Avoid contact sports. - If you have any questions, contact the clinic right away: all follow-up visits are free.
Shock loss of the transplanted hair between weeks 2 and 6 is a completely normal phenomenon. The roots are alive, and growth will resume.
